Position Overview

Van Mossel Jacksons is part of a Group with that extends to over 500 branches across the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmark, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. With over 8,000 employees Van Mossel has grown into one of the largest automotive companies in Europe.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Financial Controller to join the Group on a permanent basis. The role is based in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, with a unique operation that includes over 20 brands in the island.

Purpose of Job

To provide and develop the accounting and administration function ensuring its efficient operation within the dealerships area of responsibility. This position has responsibility for supporting management with decision making through the provision of accurate and timely financial and management performance information.

Detailed Responsibilities

I. Production of monthly management information both at departmental level and for the business overall in accordance with Group policies and reporting deadlines.

II. Monitoring performance against budget and reporting results at monthly management meetings, providing commentary in relation to variances and ad hoc analysis to support management decision making.

III. Monitor cash flow in line with group bank account facilities and ensure that bank agreements and limits are adhered to, and manufacturer schemes monitored and maximised.

IV. Management of dealership assets including debtors, stock and funding facilities both at site and within the broader Group as and when the need arises.

V. In conjunction with the Head of Business and local management, provide weekly forecasts and annual financial budgets in line with overall short to medium term goals for each sector of the business.

VI. Producing finalised annual consolidated accounts for audit purposes and offering assistance and advice to auditors during the audit.

VII. Monitoring accruals, prepayments and provisions, adjusting where necessary, alongside responsibility for the Balance Sheet and overall adherence to budgets and forecast.

VIII. Managing timely and accurate submissions of statutory reporting, including PAYE, Social Security and GST/VAT where applicable; ensuring compliance with the specific requirements for car dealerships.

IX. Payroll, Bonus and Commission submissions, ensuring the fair and accurate calculation of payroll related activity.

X. Manage effective use of Autoline Dealer Management System, and all underlying modules including VSB, Sales and Purchase ledgers and database management.

Essential Skills and Experience

1. Systems experience in Keyloop (preferably Autoline) DMS and Microsoft Office suite a requirement.

2. Preferable experience with PowerBI or similar management information systems.

3. Conversant in all KPIs essential to smooth operation of Sales, Service and Parts operations.

4. Good understanding of motor related products and the industry specific risks.

5. Strong organisational skills and ability to work independently, with attention to detail ensuring accuracy in reporting.

6. Minimum of 2 years recent experience in a Dealership Accountants role.
